Nurse Consultant
Allison Walker is a Nurse Executive and current Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner with over 16 years of healthcare experience. Allison comes to Patton Healthcare Consulting as an Orthopedic Disease Specific Care (DSC) Certification Reviewer as she was a former DSC Certification Reviewer at The Joint Commission for nearly eight (8) years.
During her time with The Joint Commission, Allison performed both on-site and off-site orthopedic reviews for hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers nationwide, sharing expertise and collaborating to help them improve their orthopedic programs. She also served as team leader and advisor for the development of both the Advanced Total Hip and Knee Replacement program as well as the Advanced Spine Program. She spoke several times at the Annual JCR Orthopedic Conference, developed educational content for annual conferences, performed client-focused educational webinars, and was a preceptor for new Orthopedic reviewers.
Her clinical background includes working as an Orthopedic Nurse Practitioner for both a community hospital as well as a large academic medical center. Along with managing the care of post-operative Orthopedic patients and performing Orthopedic consults, she was also responsible for pre- and post-operative patient education as well as staff education.
Allison received her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Cedarville University and her Master’s Degree in Nursing from The Ohio State University. Allison is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, The National Association of Orthopedic Nurses, and The American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
Allison resides in Columbus, Ohio with her husband and three children.
