Senior Associate
David Major, PE, CHC, CHFM is a healthcare facilities and construction consultant with more than 38 years of experience in engineering, construction, facilities management, physical environment, and capital planning/programming leadership. He assists healthcare organizations strengthen regulatory compliance, improve infrastructure planning, and align facility construction, renovation and operations, organizational operation, budget, safety and strategic priorities.
Mr. Major has held leadership roles overseeing facilities, construction, biomedical engineering, and capital planning across large and complex healthcare systems. His experience includes system-wide oversight of hospitals, ambulatory sites, urgent care centers, laboratories, physician offices, and support facilities, with responsibility for multi-million-dollar operating budgets, capital programs, and master planning initiatives.
Most recently, Mr. Major served as an engineering consultant with Joint Commission Resources, specializing in construction, life safety, environment of care, and emergency management consulting. In this role, he supported healthcare organizations with compliance strategies, construction risk planning, and development of tools and documentation aligned with CMS Conditions of Participation, Joint Commission standards, FGI guidelines, and applicable building and life safety codes.
Previously, Mr. Major served in leadership roles with Tower Health System and Reading Health System, including Vice President of Facilities and Construction Management and Director of Facilities and Construction Management. In these roles, he led facilities and construction operations across a seven- hospital health system and managed large-scale capital projects, infrastructure planning, and regulatory readiness efforts.
Mr. Major’s areas of expertise include healthcare construction, PCRA processes, life safety compliance, physical environment, emergency management, facilities operations, capital planning, and project execution.
He holds a Master of Engineering from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering from the United States Naval Academy. He is a disabled veteran. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds certifications as a Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) and Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM).
