Kathy Eichner, RN, MSN, CPHQ, CJCP is a senior healthcare executive and Principal Consultant with more than 40 years of experience in clinical operations, regulatory compliance, quality, and performance improvement. She brings over 20 years of consulting expertise, partnering with healthcare organizations to strengthen accreditation readiness, improve operational performance, and achieve sustained regulatory compliance.
Ms. Eichner has extensive experience in the interpretation and application of Joint Commission standards and CMS Conditions of Participation across hospitals, critical access hospitals, behavioral health, ambulatory care, and disease-specific certification programs. She is highly experienced in supporting organizations through all phases of the survey cycle, including preparation, active survey support, and response to survey findings and adverse events.
Throughout her career, Ms. Eichner has served in executive leadership roles, including Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Quality and Utilization Management within a multi-hospital health system. In these roles, she led clinical operations, quality, utilization and case management, and revenue cycle initiatives, aligning regulatory requirements with operational and financial performance.
As a consultant, Ms. Eichner works closely with healthcare leadership teams to identify system vulnerabilities, enhance patient safety and quality outcomes, and implement sustainable performance improvement strategies. She also provides interim leadership support and has contributed to regulatory and operational planning related to healthcare construction and facility transitions.
Ms. Eichner has worked with a wide range of healthcare organizations, including academic medical centers, children’s hospitals, community hospitals, behavioral health organizations, government agencies, and ambulatory care providers.
She is recognized for her ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, actionable solutions and for her engaging approach to education and leadership development at all levels of an organization.
Ms. Eichner holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and a Certified Joint Commission Professional (CJCP).
