Ms. Missi Halvorsen joins Patton Healthcare Consulting with more than 35 years of extensive healthcare industry experience serving in leadership and consultative roles. Missi began her RN career as Director of Nursing in both the Home Health Care and Pharmacy industries. After a successful decade of holding that position, she took on the role of Director of Corporate Compliance and Privacy at Baptist Health in Jacksonville, Florida for 20 years.
Ms. Halvorsen then took on the role of Director of Quality, Safety, & Regulatory/Accreditation Affairs at Premier, Inc until 2018. During her careers, Ms. Halvorsen was a Senior Consultant for more than 20 years with comprehensive experience in surveying standards for hospital, critical access, ambulatory, behavioral health, home care/hospice, rehabilitation, and certification programs. Her experience includes guiding organizations through adverse outcomes such as SIAs and IJs as well as assisting in preparation in disease certification for primary stroke.
Ms. Halvorsen specializes her consulting expertise in the areas of The Joint Commission, CMS regulatory compliance, and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. She provides assistance in assessing compliance, corrective action planning, documentation improvements, billing and coding compliance, interim staffing, and leading high reliability structures within healthcare organizations.
Missi has been an author for HCPro, Inc. since 2001 and has authored three books. Tracer Methodology: Frontline Strategies to Prepare Your Organization for JCAHO Survey; Tracer Methodology: Frontline Strategies to Prepare Your Organization for JCI Survey; and Unannounced Survey: Frontline Strategies to Prepare your Organization for Surprise Surveys.
She was recognized as Great 100 Nurses for the Great 100 Nurses North East Florida organization and recognized in the Leadership Circle of United Way. She is an active member of American Nurses Association, Florida Hospital Association, Florida Healthcare Corporate Compliance Association, and Healthcare Corporate Compliance Association; and currently resides in the greater Jacksonville, FL area.
