Mr. Blits has been involved in healthcare for more than thirty years, in both the clinical and administrative activities associated with the delivery of healthcare. He has consulted for more than twentyfive years assisting more than 150 organizations with accreditation needs.
Mr. Blits experience in consulting includes Joint Commission Environment of Care, Life Safety, and Emergency Management, as well as several clinical elements, CMS – COPS under Physical Environment. Emergency Preparedness, and Infection Control, has assisted organizations in the development of their Evidence of Standards Compliance, Statement of Conditions, and CMS Plan of Corrections including those for Condition Level and Immediate Jeopardy citations. Additionally, Mr. Blits has been trained as a Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program surveyor for Physical Environment and Life Safety under the following accreditation manual(s): Accreditation Standards for Acute Care Facilities and Critical Access Facilities.
Mr. Blits is the VP of Facilities Services in a Midwest hospital in addition to serving as a surveyor.
Mr. Blits holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire Science and Safety Engineering, is a member of American Society Hospital Engineers, a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional, and NFPA – CLSS. In addition, Mr. Blits is a Critical Care Paramedic, Firefighter and member of the Kansas Incident Management Team (IMT) for disaster response.
