Yvonne Rockwood, MBA, MHA, CPHQ, is the Senior Vice President of Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance at Patton Healthcare Consulting and Barrins & Associates and brings over 30 years of extensive experience in healthcare operations and compliance. Previously, Ms. Rockwood served as COO of a comprehensive, integrated system, including an acute Psychiatric Hospital affiliated with a 300-bed physical health hospital in Hollywood, CA. In addition to hospital operations, Ms. Rockwood specializes in supporting addiction recovery, mental health services, child welfare programs, and eating disorder treatment centers. She provides expert guidance on accreditation and reaccreditation preparation, licensing, compliance, and other regulatory requirements.
Her expertise spans diverse healthcare settings, including hospitals, post-acute care, psychiatric hospitals, home care, hospice, palliative care, and skilled nursing facilities. She has partnered with providers to earn accreditation from several accrediting organizations, including The Joint Commission, CARF, COA, ASAM, and EAGLE.
Ms. Rockwood served for five years as the Regional Associate Director for the Eastern Division at The Joint Commission. In this capacity she led the strategic development, growth, and retention of Community Behavioral Health Care Services, overseeing day-to-day operations related to accreditation and certification programs, advising and facilitating accreditation or certification pursuits for new and existing clients, providing internal support to various units, including Home Care, Hospital, and Ambulatory, and educated clients on the significance and process of accreditation, distinguishing between certification and accreditation all while exceeding accreditation goals every year.
Ms. Rockwood also held an extensive career with Kaiser Permanente throughout Southern California and Colorado, serving in various roles, including Executive Director of Quality, Population Management, and Medical Imaging Services, Chief Operating Officer, Assistant Medical Center Administrator, and Regional Area Administrator.
Ms. Rockwood holds an Executive Leadership Certification from Harvard Business School and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ). She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) as well as the National Association for Health Services Executives (NAHSE). For over 11 years, Ms. Rockwood has been an Executive Healthcare Professor teaching master ‘s-level programs at Chapman University, CA; Long Beach State University, CA; Metropolitan State University, CO; and the University of Denver, CO.
