William “Bill” Lord Jr., BSPharm, has upheld an extensive healthcare career spanning more than 30 years and stands out as a seasoned pharmacist, dynamic corporate executive, and insightful consultant known for his leadership strength. He specializes in key areas such as regulatory compliance, pharmacy automation, and legal affairs, alongside having a deep focus on policy creation, operational enhancement, and compliance with USP Chapters <797>, <800>, and <795>. His skill set also includes expertise in oncology contracting, reimbursement, medication distribution, inventory, operations management, and the oversight of controlled substances and drug diversion strategies.
In 2023, Mr. Lord retired as the Corporate Pharmacy Director at Community Health Systems for almost 20 years. In this position, he oversaw hospital pharmacy operations, he guided and supported implementation of new programs and corporate initiatives and collaborated Joint Commission and employee training for optimal compliance. He also assisted the corporate home health department, which included home health nursing, home infusion, DME, and respiratory.
Prior to his tenure as the Corporate Pharmacy Director, Mr. Lord served as Vice President of Operations at McKesson Medication Management, a McKesson pharmacy management division, where he oversaw sales and assessment of pharmacy services, including acute care, outpatient pharmacy, long-term care, home infusion, managed care, and corrections pharmacy.
Mr. Lord has a proven track record which uniquely positions him as a pivotal figure in shaping the future of healthcare and pharmacy. He currently leads as the Chairman for the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy. He is also a member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), the New Mexico Society of Health-System Pharmacists (NMSHP), the New Mexico Pharmacists Association (NMPHA), and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).
