Jason Beers, MS, CHFM, CLSS-HC, CFI-I, is a healthcare facilities compliance expert with over 20 years of experience in regulatory compliance, fire and life safety, environment of care, and emergency management. He has a deep understanding of applicable codes and standards, including NFPA, IBC, OSHA, CMS, and The Joint Commission.
Most recently, Mr. Beers worked as Director of Engineering Support at JLL Healthcare Solutions, where he was responsible for overseeing compliance efforts across multiple hospital accounts nationwide. In this role, he provided regulatory guidance, conducted onsite visits, and delivered consultative support to ensure hospitals met all required fire and life safety, emergency management, and environment of care standards. Prior to his time at JLL, Mr. Beers served as a Life Safety Code Surveyor for The Joint Commission (TJC), where he conducted over 260 surveys across a variety of healthcare organizations such as acute care, critical access, psychiatric, and rehab and VA hospitals, community behavioral health centers, ambulatory clinics, outpatient facilities, and the National Institute of Health (NIH).
Before joining TJC, Mr. Beers spent over a decade at the Medical University of South Carolina Medical Center, where he progressed into the role of Facilities Compliance Manager. There here he managed the Facilities Compliance Team and ensured continuous adherence to TJC, state, and all relevant fire and life safety codes. His responsibilities included overseeing compliance documentation, managing life safety drawings, and leading a team of compliance professionals.
Mr. Beers holds a Master of Science in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University and a Bachelor of Science in Fire Science and Computer Studies from the University of Maryland Global Campus. He maintains multiple industry certifications, including Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM), Certified Life Safety Specialist for Healthcare (CLSS-HC), and Certified Fire Inspector I (CFI-I). He was also a South Carolina Certified Resident Fire Marshal from 2011 to 2017 and is an active member of NFPA and ASHE.
