Tatum T. Parmer, RN, BSN, MBA, NEA-BC, FACHE has over 25 years of diverse healthcare leadership experience with deep expertise in regulatory compliance, accreditation, and survey readiness. She has held multiple management and executive positions, including Director of Surgical/Cardiac Services, Director of Nursing, Senior Director of Nursing/Chief Nursing Officer, and Accreditation Coordinator.
As Accreditation Coordinator for a multi-entity health system – including an acute care hospital, critical access hospital, free-standing emergency department, and more than 50 provider-based clinics – Ms. Parmer was solely responsible for system-wide accreditation readiness. She successfully led teams through multiple survey cycles, implementing sustainable compliance programs and building a strong culture of readiness.
Her consulting career has allowed her to work with healthcare organizations nationwide on survey preparedness, policy and procedure development, and performance improvement strategies. She is a highly experienced field surveyor, having served with the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) conducting Acute Care Hospital and Critical Access Hospital surveys. She also worked as a Standards Interpretation Specialist, interpreting CMS Conditions of Participation, reviewing deficiency reports, and approving corrective action plans.
Currently, she serves as a surveyor for ACHCU, the educational division of the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, providing organizations with practical, survey-focused education. Her combined experience as both a regulator and consultant gives her clients unique, insider insight into how surveyors think, what they look for, and how to prepare for success.
Ms. Parmer holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Virginia Wesleyan College and an MBA with a Healthcare focus from the University of Findlay. She is a board certified and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and also board certified as a Nurse Executive Advanced by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
