FAQ Modifications

The recent Joint Commission website redesign includes an important change. Now, it contains a date last modified next to each FAQ.

FAQ Modifications

We have been critical of how this process worked before. The fact that TJC could tweak an FAQ and change the intent without anyone noticing was an issue. Also, both Patton and our clients have expressed dissatisfaction with disappearing FAQs. Further, important interpretations get taken down, again without anyone noticing.

Well, the redesign solves that problem as well.

Now there is a link that allows you to print or print to file all FAQs into a single document you can keep. This allows you to compare the current posting with your stored document to see what’s missing or changed. In fact, we suggest you save these quarterly. Although there is a little bit of work involved it should save you time down the road.

Thank you to The Joint Commission for this refinement. In our opinion, this only leaves one remaining issue. Review all FAQs over two years old. If the standard or EP is not clear and causes multiple organizations to ask for an explanation, change the EP the following year to improve clarity.
